Despite what many said was a tight cap situation, the Denver Broncos come out on day one swinging for the fences!
The Denver Broncos have made a significant move this offseason by signing standout offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey to a 5-year $87.5 MM deal. The 28-year-old McGlinchey spent the last five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, starting in 66 of the 68 games he played in. That is out of a possible 75 games showing a good amount of durability at a grueling position.
At 6’8″ and 315 pounds, McGlinchey is known for his impressive footwork, power, and versatility as a lineman. His presence on the field is sure to provide much-needed stability to the Broncos’ offensive front, which struggled at various points last season.

He has been a key contributor to some of the 49ers’ most successful seasons in recent years, including a run to the Super Bowl in 2019.
The signing of Mike McGlinchey is a clear indication that the Broncos are committed to improving their team and competing at the highest level. With McGlinchey on board, the Broncos are sure to have a powerful and formidable offensive line in the upcoming season. We can’t wait to see what this talented team can achieve!
In addition to his on-field prowess, with his 85.4 run-blocking grade since he entered the league a top-10 mark among tackles. McGlinchey is also known for his leadership and work ethic, both of which are sure to make him a valuable asset to the Broncos’ locker room. He has been praised by coaches and teammates alike for his dedication to the game and his commitment to improving every day.
Some have liked to point to a few holes in McGlinchey’s game. We are not here to say he is a perfect product at RT. He still has room to grow as a pass protector but notably dropped his pressure percentage allowed from 6.1% over his first three seasons to 5.1% over the past two. His combination of size and athleticism with his relatively young age lends to him being able to improve in most if not all areas with top-notch coaching coming from newly hired o-line coach Zach Strief and OC Joe Lombardi.

With a talented roster that boasts players like quarterback Russell Wilson, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, and now Mike McGlinchey, the Broncos are shaping up to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL.
Denver fans are no doubt thrilled to see the team making moves to improve their chances for success, and the signing of Mike McGlinchey is just the first example of their commitment to winning this offseason. Stay tuned for more updates as the Broncos gear up for what is sure to be an action-packed season full of surprises and exciting moments.
