The Broncos lost FB Andrew Beck to Houston in free agency. George Paton didn’t waste any time replacing him with former Chief Michael Burton.
The Denver Broncos have added another key player to their running back room, signing fullback Michael Burton to a one-year deal worth $1.1375 million. The Broncos needed a steady fullback after former starter Andrew Beck signed with Houston in free agency and have found their solution in Burton. He brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team after spending the last eight seasons with the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Burton is best known for his blocking ability as he has totaled only 28 rushing attempts, 18 receptions and 2 total touchdowns in his career to this point. His versatility to also play on special teams and professionalism will make him an asset to the Broncos however. His leadership and work ethic will also be a great addition to the locker room.
The signing of Burton comes at a crucial time for the Broncos, who are aiming to improve upon their record from last season. With a strong roster in place and many talented players added to their disposal like running back Samaje Perine in the same meeting room, the Broncos are well-positioned to make a run for the playoffs in the upcoming season. The addition of Burton is just another step towards that goal.
Moreover, Burton’s signing is also a testament to the Broncos’ commitment to building a formidable team around quarterback Russell Wilson. The Broncos’ offense was often criticized last season for its lack of firepower, but with the addition of Burton and other key players, the team is poised to take a major leap forward in the upcoming season. Look for a lot of smash mouth running followed by play-action bombs.

It also helps that he has experience with Head Coach Sean Payton’s offense after spending the 2020 season in New Orleans.
With the signing of Michael Burton, the Denver Broncos have added another important piece to their roster. Their fans can now look forward to an exciting season ahead as their team aims to make a strong push towards the playoffs.
